  1. Lord Arran lived in the castle that is now in ruins in Castle Gore three miles and an half east of Crossmolina. Several times he invited priests to the castle and killed them treacherously. There was a secret trap door on the stairs when they put walked on this door they fell down into the Lake or into the Moy. Lord Arran is now dead, when he went to England in 1916, his castle was destroyed and burned. The trap door is still to be seen.
